As many of you may have seen on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, I adventured to Oregon last month for a 1-on-1 mentorship with the amazing Holli True! I am constantly looking for ways to better myself as a photographer and I feel one of the best ways to do that is to learn from others. No matter where you are at in your life, there is ALWAYS something new to learn and someone out there who is willing to teach you! So after months of correspondence with Holli, I hopped a plane a few weeks ago for my first workshop adventure!
We started out the day by discussing some specific topics I wanted to cover, critiquing my current work, playing with poses and discussing how to better serve my clients. Holli is a wealth of information & I only wish we had more time to sit in her dining room and chat- I could have picked her brain all day! After our morning discussion, we grabbed lunch (helloooo fresh fish tacos!) and then met our three amazingly gorgeous models for our afternoon photoshoot! I was so glad the Oregon rain held off (mostly...lol!) for our shoot and I was so excited to see that two of Holli's 2015 seniors, Corey & Hadley, along with their bff Adrienne, had volunteered to model for me. I had seen these girls on Holli's blog before and was pumped to get to meet them in person and to photograph their beautiful faces!
We hung out in an adorable shopping center in downtown Eugene which offered a ton of different spots for shooting. We covered posing techniques, cracked nerdy jokes, laughed a TON and the sun even blessed us with some rays at the end of the day! I cannot express how amazing Holli was and how much I enjoyed shooting these beauties. Check out my favorites shots from the day, and be sure to contact me here if you are interested in booking a session. I can't wait to put all my new knowledge to work with my class of 2016 seniors here in Kansas... this year is going to be the best!!
